Barrandica Pinot Noir
Uco Valley, Mendoza Province, Argentina, 2013
100% Pinot Noir grapes, aged for 3 months in French oak barrels, prior to resting in bottle for at least 6 months . An expressive and fruity Pinot Noir from the Valle de Uco, with ripe red fruit, nuts and lilac floral notes. Compared to French Pinot Noir, the Barrandica is fuller and fruitier. It nonetheless manages to maintain all the finesse one expects from a good Pinot Noir. It was once declared that “God made Cabernet Sauvignon, whereas the devil made Pinot Noir.” Our friends at Bodega Antucura have not only managed to tame this mischievous vine, but have produced a Pinot Noir that should make the producers in Burgundy want to up their game!
