South Place Hotel, 3 South Pl, London

Welcome to a true temple to fish. Scan the Michelin-starred menu and you’ll find the likes of turbot, sea bass and red mullet. Even the butter is infused with seaweed. Sitting on the seventh floor of South Place Hotel, start with ballotine of salmon topped with shaved asparagus and ponzu before moving on to blanched lobster in sweet cucumber gazpacho. Both are almost too pretty to eat. The minestrone soup is taken to new heights with octopus and squid and while the desserts are equally well-composed; a warm malt tart with malted milk ice cream is the stand out
