Ttnov6

Since opening in 1998, Farndon Fields Farm shop has gone from strength to strength and recently added a butchery and café to its growing business. Homegrown potatoes and vegetables such as carrots, squash, celeriac, asparagus, beetroot and spinach make up the 40 different types of vegetables harvested from the 550 acre farm, which is located directly behind the shop. Meanwhile freshly baked crusty sausage rolls, pork pies and mouth-watering goat’s cheese and onion marmalade tarts are prepared in the warm and inviting café kitchen. Lining up along the shelves and counters

of the deli, there’s an impressive amount of produce you can stock your larder with: local cheeses such as Colston Bassett Stilton and Sparkenhoe Red Leicester, crusty sourdough and spelt loaves from Hambleton Bakery, Harborough curd cakes, and delicious ice creams in flavours like caramel crunch and raspberry pavlova, supplied by Culloden Farm, Twycross. From the 50 or so local producers who supply the shop, Rutland’s Haymeadow Farm provide chicken and duck paté which is simply delicious spread on a fresh baguette. JW.
