When Diane Brown opened up her deli seven years ago, she had no idea it would grow to be such a hit with the local community. The award-winning deli is located in a listed building and features a cheese counter brimming with over 75 cheeses and a selection of antipasto including olives, pastrami, mortadella, chorizo, patés, salads and pork pies. The freezer is fully stocked with Morecambe Bay potted shrimps, lobster, crab meat and scallops from Moray Seafoods and there’s even orange marmalade cheesecake ice cream from local supplier Stewart Tower Dairy. The wine section is fully stocked with tipples from all over the world and Scottish fruit wine from Cairn O’Mohr which is made from berries, flowers and leaves that grow on their farm. Provender Brown’s best sellers include hand-made oatcakes from Adamson’s Pittenweem based in Fife, Charles Macleod award-winning Stornoway black pudding, and cinnamon and cayenne chocolate bars from artisan company IQ Chocolate, based in Stirling, which sweetens raw criollo cacao beans using organic coconut blossom nectar.
