Ingredients

  • 45ml brandy
  • 7.5ml triple sec
  • 15ml simple syrup (see our Cadiz bramble recipe)
  • 22.5ml fresh lemon juice
  • 5ml maraschino liqueur
  • 7 drops aromatic bitters

For the garnish

  • sugar, for the rim
  • 1 horse’s neck lemon twist (see below)

  • 1 lemon

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Rim a wine glass with sugar, then pour the drink into the glass and garnish with the horse’s neck lemon twist.

Use a Y peeler to cut away the entire peel of the lemon in one long spiral. Coil the peel along the interior of the serving glass, allowing the top to drape over the rim.
