Put the sauce ingredients in a blender and whizz until smooth. Drizzle olive oil over the beef and season. Put the ginger and garlic in a wok or large frying pan with a splash of oil over a medium-high heat, add the beef and cook until browned.
Pour in the barbecue sauce with 120ml water and the chopped prunes and simmer for 10 minutes until the beef is tender.
Put the slaw ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Transfer the beef to a serving bowl and sprinkle the sesame seeds over, then serve with the slaw.
