Housed in a shadowy railway tunnel and with a no-bookings policy, this restaurant perfectly encapsulates the east London dining scene. Co-founders Josh Katz and Mattia Bianchi plate up delicious meze dishes such as carrots in sticky date glaze with whipped feta and dirty fried mejadrah (lentils, rice and onion) with hearty venison. The meat is what guests queue round the block for, though, so roll up your cuffs and get stuck in.
