Bistrot at Wild Honey

6 Waterloo Pl, London

WILD ABOUT DEMETRE

A great bistro is one you can keep going back to and never tire of what’s on offer. You’ll have your favourites that you can rely on, but there’s a daily blackboard to inspire – and you know whatever you order is going to be good. The casual sibling to Michelin-starred Wild Honey, Bistrot at Wild Honey is where you’d want to meet with friends, drink copious amounts of wine (after a negroni) while chowing down on reliable plates. Crispy pig’s head with sweet and sour onions to start, perhaps; the most tender spit-roasted, honey-lacquered baby chicken in town to follow; and a dessert classic to finish: tiramisu, fruit tart, chocolate delice – take your pick. It’s an instant classic, and the kind of place you image chef Anthony Demetre would want to eat himself. For a chef of his calibre, Anthony’s name is above too few doors, so this is one to savour.
