BISTRO PRO

Parisian bistros are famed for good reason and having one on your London doorstep, in the form of Henri Bistro, makes them even better. The work of Jackson Boxer, it has a menu that plays with the Parisian concept but is rooted in the simple provision of delicious food, a lovely setting and great service. And it’s a menu that can’t miss – even the crunchy, chewy Dusty Knuckle baguettes with ‘very good butter’ are worth a mention. Then there’s raw beef atop a thick lick of duck liver; a charcoal grill that does wonders with already wondrous Brixham cod or Swaledale bavette; and pristine desserts such as royal opera torte, and it’s easy to see why Henri could easily be your new favourite bistro. It’s never going to disappoint. And, what’s more, there’s a £28, three-course pre-theatre menu: a bargain.
