Sardinia, Italy
Located on a wild stretch within
the Tavolara Marine Reserve,
Baglioni Resort is immersed in all
the uniqueness and magic of north-
east Sardinia: flamingos, rare
orchids, mimosa and marine thistles
framing the white sands of Lu
Impostu beach. In contrast, the
hotel is sleek, linear, architectural
– pared back so the focus easily
shifts to the breathtaking views. It’s
in these wild surrounds that the
Michelin-starred kitchen finds
inspiration. Menus suggest a strong
sense of place: fregola, suckling pig,
lamb ragù – but often with a modern
twist and unexpected curve balls
(think smoked cold Verrigni
spaghetti, Tabasco powder,
nasturtium). With local vineyards
on the doorstep and the lure of
snorkelling in the crystal-clear
waters, there’s plenty to do nearby.
Take solace that, if the pull of the
daybeds around the pool proves too
strong, you’re not alone.
Doubles from £387.
