Foxhill Manor, Farncombe Estate, Broadway. The Cotswolds
When it comes to hospitality, ‘concepts’ are generally reserved for restaurants: ‘Have you been here before? Let me explain our concept…’ But at Foxhill Manor they do have a concept and, unlike the restaurants, it’s not an annoying one. They just want you to eat and drink what you want, when you want. The setting is typically Cotswold, a honey-coloured Grade II-listed manor house set in 160ha of woodland, lakes and fields. The sister of nearby Dormy House hotel, it benefits from offering its sibling’s famed spa and restaurants (courtesy of a free shuttle service), but with just eight rooms it provides a far more intimate experience. Whether you’re playing chess in one nook or enjoying afternoon tea in another cranny, Foxhill seems to magic staff when you fancy a snack or your G&T is running low.
