Long on the radar of Cotswold diners in the know, The Kingham Plough is fast gaining status as one of the best restaurants with rooms in the UK. Chef Emily Watkins and husband Miles Lampson took the property in 2007 and focused on the food. Her cooking brought accolades by the stockpot-full, zenithed by winning the BBC’s Great British Menu last year. This time of year, the Evesham asparagus tart eats fantastically, while the duck Wellington is a tender take on the classic.
