Casanova, Italy
Tuscan vineyards frame the scene
at this restaurant with rooms. It’s the
brainchild of notable Italian chef
Antonino Cannavacciuolo, who’s
tacked on six elegant suites to his
Michelin-starred dining room. Each
channels a unique character while
sharing design tropes simpatico to the
surrounds. There are two doubles and
four generous two-bedroom abodes,
with the Narcissus Suite straddling
two storeys. Featuring a kitchen,
lounge and terrace space, they offer a chance to immerse yourself in an
authentic taste of Italy. And that’s
before you dine at the restaurant – a
stunning space that’s home to modern
plays on Tuscan fare – think rabbit
cappelletti with carrot and eucalyptus,
or pigeon with rhubarb chutney and
potato salad. Experiences on offer
cover hot air balloon flights over the
vines, horse riding, Vespa rides
through arty villages, wine tastings
and truffle hunting with the hotel’s
own pooch. A 45-minute drive from
Pisa, it’s a superb jumping-off point for
exploring.
Doubles from £193
including breakfast. 00 39 0587
