Morocco
Set within the Red City’s bustling medina, L’Hôtel Marrakech is the first hotel from British fashion designer Jasper Conran. As you’d expect, it’s a stylish hideaway, formed from a 19th-century riad – once a part of the Caidal Palace. Here, five generous suites surround a courtyard laden with banana and citrus trees with a lap pool, which twinkles with flickering lanterns come nightfall. Inside, a neutral colour scheme creates a feeling of calm and elegant interiors combine Moroccan craftsmanship, such as hand-painted zouak wood pieces, with artwork, textiles and sculptures from Conran’s collection. A sense of Thirties-style glamour pervades, whether that’s in the dining room or on the jasmine-perfumed rooftop, with its stunning views of the Atlas Mountains.
