Kalafatis Mykonos 84600 – Greece
NEW-WAVE RETRO
While the Cycladic island of Mykonos embraces its party reputation,
hoteliers are savvy about the need to bring diversity to the scene.
Enter Numo, a haven of quiet luxury on Kalafati beach. Channelling
elegant aesthetics grounded in a boutique soul, this place is all about
harnessing Greek hospitality. Design is inspired by the carefree spirit
of the Sixties and Seventies – when Mykonos rose in stature as a
tourist destination – honing craftsmanship, an island colour palette,
vintage touchpoints and traditional and natural materials to deliver a
chic sense of calm. Historic architecture reveals stone-built archways,
marble floors, built-in lounges and curves aplenty – consider it more
like a private villa than a 27-room hotel. Some rooms have private
pools, there’s a holistic spa, and local small producers and a zero-waste mantra fuel Anemoessa Restaurant (and the top-tier bar) –
think classic Greek fare with modern inflections.
