Vienna’s recently opened Park Hyatt is energising the city’s hotel scene. Once the austere Austrian Hungarian Monarchy Bank, it has recently re-emerged with an opening bash where synchronised swimmers in gold Jimmy Choos cavorted to GoldenEye in a pool tiled with fake bullion. The new design brilliantly merges the striking commercial architecture, from the marble lobby and mahogany-lined humidor to the light-washed restaurant, forged from the cashier’s hall with ornate décor and ‘light bushes’.
