If you’re heading to Miami for some low-key winter sun, the discreet Angler’s Boutique Resort on a quiet stretch of Washington Avenue in downtown Miami is a welcome break from the high risers on Collins Avenue. Combining European style with Miami glam, it looks more like a private residence than a hotel.

Inside it’s simple but sophisticated. Comfortable, roomy suites come as studios or split-level spaces where a spiral staircase leads from the lounge to the cosy bedroom.
