The Hoxton Hotel

Paris

Last year, the City of Lights was enlightened in British design ways with the opening of a branch of Shoreditch boutique success story The Hoxton, in the 2nd arrondissement. A grand, plant-dotted lobby is a place for guests and locals to cross paths, perhaps over a café au lait, while the hotel’s 172 rooms, spread over four floors, embrace the idiosyncracies inherent in the 18th-century building’s layout. Opt for one of four categories: Shoebox, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy. Restaurant Rivié is the place to get waylaid en route to your sightseeing itinerary, with an exuberant breakfast menu serving up the likes of avocado and eggs on chilli-laced toast and mushroom tart with salsa verde. The hotel’s location is a dream, being within easy walking distance of the Louvre, the Jardin des Tuileries and buzzy Le Marais. Back at base, if you feel the need to refresh after a long day of exploring, the in-house Jacques’ Bar is a floral-wallpapered oasis of chic, offering expertly mixed cocktails with an authentic Moroccan twist.

Doubles from £175.
