Just a stone’s throw from the windswept sands of Old Hunstanton Beach, you’ll find The Neptune, which was awarded a Michelin star back in 2009.
Thankfully this former 18th-century coaching inn, run by capable couple Kevin and Jacki Mangeolles, is blissfully devoid of stuffiness. You’ll have to plan ahead to get a booking here, though, because the dining room only has eight tables and word has spread. As you’d expect from the inn’s location, fish plays a big part on the menu. The six bedrooms epitomise coastal chic; all are decorated with New England-style furniture with crisp white linens. Doubles from £225, including dinner.
