Valle Dell'erica Hotel

Sardinia

Sitting on Sardinia’s most northerly point, Valle Dell’Erica is designed to make the most of the island’s spectacular coastline. Rooms come with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that lead on to terraces overlooking the water, the showers have windows so you never have to take your eyes off the blue scene beyond, while Li Zini restaurant boasts candlelit tables on the beach. Spend your days exploring the 28ha of shrubland where lizards laze on the paths and butterflies flit through flowers. The resort is home to 1.5km of winding coast, so each day you can swim into the waters from a different sandy cove. Some are larger with sun loungers and umbrellas, others are more secluded. Later, bob in the saltwater-filled swimming pool in front of La Licciola (there are two hotels on site) and enjoy its swim-up bar. Make sure you check out the Thalasso spa among the granite rocks for a circuit of its four seawater pools heated to varying temperatures. Finish with dinner at Li Ciusoni, where the outdoor kitchen serves up classic Sardinian cuisine. Doubles with half board from £255.
