Zero George Hotel

South Carolina

In the historic US city of Charleston, modern southern hospitality is made manifest at Zero George. While its five buildings may have roots planted in the antebellum – some dating back to 1804 – you’re about as far from the Old South as can be. Here, 16 suites sprawl over a tangle of courtyards where the scent of magnolia hangs heavy. Within, pastel shades are accented by pieces that speak the vernacular of high design.

King Street – the boutique-rich main drag – and the waterfront are a few blocks away, and best explored on foot. The city’s a hotbed of the best of American cuisine –for lunch, Zero’s restaurant has its finger on the pulse when it comes to hyper-seasonality; or try Sean Brock’s treatment of heirloom ingredients at Husk before sipping iced tea on the hotel’s shaded veranda.
