Deli Food

Set in a historic building in Clifton village, Bristol, the award-winning Arch House Deli is a small, thriving business, run by David Greenman and Debbie Atherton since 2009. Key to their success is their belief that they have fantastic food literally on their doorstep and this is always their first port of call. The honey stocked in the shop is made from hives situated a few hundred yards away, and it’s hand-delivered by Brian, the beekeeper. Jars of apple and lavender, and apple and geranium, jelly are provided by Diggy Tennant, a local resident who makes them from the flowers and fruit in her very own garden – and then there’s the pork pies provided by local pub owner Bill Butt. The nutty flavour of traditional matured Montgomery cheddar is a real winner with customers. It’s originally from the area and is as popular as ever but, with 60 cheeses on offer at the deli, you’d be hard pushed to choose a favourite. The deli sandwiches come with a variety of fillings (think bresaola, parmesan, tomato and rocket) squeezed between thick, soft fresh slices of bread, courtesy of Hobbs House.
