North Yorkshire
Built on strong family values passed down through generations of farmers and butchers, Keelham Farm Shop is a celebration of great-tasting and responsibly sourced food. Championing sustainable and affordable produce is what lies at the heart of Victoria and James Robertshaw’s shop, a value that has seen their family providing fresh fare since 1929.
Customers can take advantage of the on-site butchery that not only provides excellent quality meat and poultry, but also homemade sausages. Collaborations with Naylor’s Brewery and Just Desserts have seen the shop’s own brand of beer, Tipsy Pig, being sold alongside mouth-watering cakes, while the recent acquisition of pie maker H Ambler and Sons Ltd brings together two renowned butchering families of Yorkshire. The shop also offers both a veg exchange scheme and a weekly ‘shopper- hopper’ service that picks up people without their own means of transport from local communities.
Community is at the heart of what Keelham does – sourcing from around 400 local and regional producers and farmers reflects a focus on the environment, while the shop also participates in education projects and runs frequent seasonally themed offers – January saw ‘winter warmer’ casseroles and stews available, as well as ‘neeps and tatties’ (potato and swede), haggis and whisky sauce recipes for Burns Night.
