Walsingham farm shop

Norfolk

Wfs Interiorsummer

Born from a vision to directly connect the community with Walsingham Estate Farm, this deli in the bustling medieval village brims with local produce. Around 75 per cent of items come from Norfolk, with 95 per cent from the British Isles. Some of the barn’s original features have been preserved, and amid the exposed brickwork are crates piled high with fresh fruit and vegetables. Split into five sections, there’s everything you could possibly need for a wintertime feast.

Start your haul at the meat counter, where butchers are on hand to cut and prep joints, giving knowledgeable insight into the meat’s provenance, such as the lamb chops from Gardner & Son farmers in South Creake. If you’re looking to add indulgence to your Christmas dinner table, plump for a rump or loin of Holkham venison. Roasted with juniper, it’s a fragrant alternative to the traditional turkey. Fill the rest of your hessian sack with homemade cold-set pork pies with Woodforde’s beer jelly, and tasty turkey and cranberry pies.

Fancy something to snack on immediately? Grab a couple of the freshly baked honey and mustard sausage rolls, which are delicious.

Next, head to the counter for a veritable gold mine of local cheeses that awaits your perusal. Mrs Temple’s Cheese produces a fantastic range just minutes away from the farm shop using milk from Brown Swiss cows. It includes an excellent soft-veined Binham Blue and smooth, melting Copys Cloud. Godminster brie with black pepper is definitely one to pick up for your cheeseboard – try it and you’ll find that a smattering of the seasoning contrasts beautifully with the rich, creamy texture of the brie.

Why not take the stress out of the festive food shopping with a bespoke meat and veg box delivered to your door? Everything will be fresh and ready to go for the big day. walsingham.co
