Serves 1 Drinks
Identifiable only by a lantern outside the door, the self-styled ‘Bar With No Name’ rewards guests who manage to find it with some of the world’s best drinks when they arrive. Head barman Tony Conigliaro has received countless awards, specialising in his house martini, which you’ll find here.
One of the most straightforward classic cocktails, many still get martinis horribly wrong. We blame James Bond for giving rise to a generation of shakers, who bruise the spirit before it gets anywhere near the glass. Keep it simple and it’s far harder to make mistakes. Pour the gin and dry vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with cubed ice. Stir to combine for 15 rotations and double strain into a small, chilled coupette glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.
