Place the flour, a pinch of salt, baking powder and sugar in a mixing bowl and make a well in the centre. Crack the eggs into the well, then pour in the milk and melted butter. Gradually draw the dry ingredients into the wet ones, using a whisk, and then beat until you have a smooth batter. Heat the waffle iron and when it’s hot, pour in a spoonful of batter. The waffle iron will let you know when the waffles are ready. Keep the waffle warm while you make the rest. For the chocolate sauce, place the chocolate and butter in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate and butter have melted, then remove from the heat. Stir in the cream, then serve drizzled over the waffles with vanilla ice-cream.
