For views of a different kind, this beachfront restaurant is spot on. The open-plan, upstairs dining room, known as the Rotunda, is done up in tasteful reds and browns, but it’s the outdoor terrace that’s the highlight, with views of Brighton Pier and beyond, stretching far along the Sussex coast. Tuck into traditional Italian bread served with Sicilian extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar before moving onto home-made creamy tagliatelle with shredded cavolo nero (Italian cabbage), garlic and Umbrian-cured roasted mustard and wild fennel-seed ham.
