Hot on the heels of the Ivy Café, the latest addition to Richmond’s restaurant scene is Antipodea, which boasts a confident, accessible Australian ambience. But under the cheeky-chappie, Crocodile Dundee front, a deeper and more interesting offering is displayed in the menu. ‘AFC’ buttermilk chicken comes with a sriracha-laced mayo, and the burgers are big, masculine and cooked to your preference. There’s also a take-out service. Pick up cakes, breads, granolas or a bespoke barbecue box, as well as menu items. A top-floor cocktail bar is in the offing. Bonzer.
