Asador 44

Cardiff, Wales

Northern Spain is the inspiration here, with a menu offering the best cuts of meat and fish grilled over an impressive wood-fired parrilla grill. It is the latest restaurant in the South Wales stable of brothers Tom and Owen Morgan. An embracive Galician warmth is created by auburn brickwork and copper interiors, velvety reds by the glass and imported rare-breed beef. Go for a tender dry-aged steak, paired with an authentic romesco or punchy blue cheese sauce. Swerve dessert and go for the extensive cheeseboard, which features truffled, peppered and herbed offerings.
