Designed by ‘queen of style’ Anoushka Hempel and inspired by an old-fashioned steamer gliding up the Bosphorus, the decadent, all matte black and gold ground-floor restaurant of five-star boutique hotel Blakes serves up an easy-on-the-eye menu of Med-inspired and Asian plates along with impeccable service. The clientele (don’t be surprised to spot a floor-length gown or vintage Hermès cravat) graze on the likes of sashimi, beef carpaccio, cauliflower steak and seared tuna loin while sipping champagne, before, ideally, retiring upstairs to bed.
