CUT FROM FINE CLOTH

The instant familiarity of Cloth belies the fact that it’s been open mere months. Despite being in Farringdon, it’s got ‘local favourite’ written all over it, to the point where floral print seems to be an unspoken dress code, matching the antique English vibe. Food is wonderfully simple – unsurprising, given the chef’s background includes Brawn: great oysters; Dorset crab allowed to do its sweet-tasting thing with perfect plate buddies celeriac and gooseberry; Somerset lamb scrumpet that’s crunchy on the outside, melting inside. Expect well chosen wines – the owners are importers.
