Nestled in a Grade II-listed building in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, this Japanese fusion joint offers yakitori classics with a local twist. Traditional-style chicken thigh gets a Mancunian makeover thanks to plenty of fiery chilies and a sticky peanut sauce, while Kurobuta pork yakiton skewers beg to be dunked into the chilli jam side. Another exquisite British-Japanese union is evident in the Wagyu katsu sando: buttery beef in a burger-like sauce sandwiched between two slices of Yorkshire bread. Finish the feast with a super-gooey peanut butter Arctic roll. RC.
