Frog by Adam Handling

Covent Garden

Spawned from its original east London site, Adam Handling’s second Frog is an upmarket affair in tune with its West End setting. Grab a seat at the pass for the best view in the house, opt for the tasting menu and be enthralled as each masterpiece takes form beneath the hands of the brilliant young team. The food is theatrical in its presentation yet has its roots in traditional technique. Don’t miss Mother, a signature dish inspired by Handling’s mum that has migrated from the original Frog in E1, and is laced with his trademark combination of emotion and daring. Rich truffle cream cheese sprinkled with apple and cep powder inside salt-baked celeriac is a masterclass in well-balanced textures and fearless flavour combinations, while the confit potato rolled in leek ash is fabulously decadent thanks to a creamy filling offset by pearls of English caviar. Aged just 29, Handling has already scooped two gongs at the Food and Travel Reader Awards, and with this Frog nominated in this year’s Best Newcomer category, we suspect he could be on track for a third.
