Penrith
Pyrophobics beware – this restaurant
takes its name very seriously. With an
open-fire grill as its centrepiece, expect a festival of flames. Exposed brick walls
and lofty ceilings provide the backdrop.
Succulent steaks, including a 900g côte
de boeuf that’s made for sharing, choice
cuts of pork and juicy burgers are a given.
But FYR doesn’t stop there. Caesar
salads are topped with griddled chicken,
while a grilled half-lobster Thermidor
topped with Gruyère is a fine alternative to all that meat. The house special, Jen’s
sticky toffee pudding, is a fitting finale, so
be sure to save room.
