It’s hard to decide what’s better – the food or the view. the Galvin brothers have done good work here, from the decadent buttery dorset crab ‘lasagne’ to a precisely poached brill fillet, resting in an umami-rich dashi- based broth. Ceviche-style scallops bring punchy flavour; a chocolate- and peanut- studded banana soufflé is like a feather-light version of the best ever banana bread. Served alongside 28th-floor views over Hyde Park, the meal is elevated to new levels. throw in the example-setting service and superb wine matches and this is one worthy of the most special of occasions.
