London
Based in Covent Garden’s old Watney-Combe brewery, Hawksmoor Seven Dials puts the steak on a pedastal – and it’s hard not to bow in its honour. Bone-in prime rib, porterhouse and chateaubriand are the best cuts and come in chunks of 800g or 900g to share. These steaks are cooked to the exacting high standards by which others should be measured. Feeling decandent? Throw on half a lobster or some grilled bone barrow. On the side, beef dripping chips and, finally, on top, a stilton hollandaise or bone marrow gravy. It doesn’t get much better than this.
