Hern

Stainbeck Corner, Leeds

NORTHERN STAR

The outskirts of Leeds might not be the first place you’d look for inventive, hyper-seasonal fare, but therein lies Hern’s charm. Taking a corner spot in Chapel Allerton, Rab Adams majors in transforming the finest produce into globe-trotting dishes that punch well above their weight. The concise menu changes daily
– think home curing, clever flavour combinations and produce used in varying guises so as to reduce waste. Emblematic dishes might include pork collar with black pudding, green beans and courgette, or asparagus, ajo blanco and blood orange gremolata.
