This Dalston export might share its name with a breed of Japanese chicken, but there’s more than poultry on the skewers here. Start with true-to-tradition yakitori plates like fragrant miso and coriander thighs and sweet tsukune chicken meatball, served with a raw yolk and dark soy dipping sauce, before returning to the grill for beef-wrapped enoki mushroom skewers and orange-marinated kamo duck breast. The warm, peppery ginger ice cream, studded with sweet potato crisps, was our favourite from the short dessert menu and paired perfectly with a Misty Mountain saké.
