Myrtos

London

After 13 years at Michelin-starred Pied à Terre, chef Asimakis Chaniotis returns to his Greek roots with Myrtos – a homage to heritage flavours in the heart of South Kensington. Named after the famed Kefalonian beach, the restaurant delivers refined, family-style Greek cooking with flair. Dishes are built for sharing: salt-baked sea bass, grilled lamb chops and whole lobster giouvetsi casserole showcase technical precision. Desserts hold their own – the pretty Greek yoghurt parfait is sculpted like a classical statue with rose sorbet and crystallised petals, and the syrupy portokalopita, a zesty pastry pie, is hard to resist. A collaboration with Athens’ Line bar (currently no 6 in the world) adds Mediterranean flair to cocktails, the likes of orange blossom, Kalamata olives and sun- dried tomatoes lending unexpected depth. Opa!
