Selin Kiazim is fast becoming London’s hottest property. After working at The Providores and Kopapa, and running pop-ups at Ember Yard and Carousel, Kiazim launched her own restaurant with front-of-house business partner Laura Christie at the end of last year. Influenced by her Turkish-Cypriot heritage, the food here explores the full gamut of ingredients from the Eastern Mediterranean – crushed pistachios, spiced oils and citrus feature heavily – and the results are nothing short of delicious. The menu is split into snacks, vegetables, pides (Turkish pizzas), seafood and meat. So best to order some grilled halloumi, lemon and honey to nibble on while you make a call from the rest of the menu. Baked lamb fat potatoes with fried duck egg is as rich and decadent as it sounds, while the spiced short rib pide with chilli is ideal for mopping up the punchy dressing of the side salad. Sea bass with pomegranate is pick of the fish, while chilli-garlic chicken with lime mayo is quite rightly becoming the talk of London. Book well in advance. MS. 020 7729 3032, oklava.co.uk
