A New York import, Sushisamba is rather flash – on the 38th and 39th floors of the Heron Tower, it overlooks the sweeping expanse of the Square Mile, the Thames and the East End. With this setting, you would almost forgive the restaurant if the food was lacklustre; happily though, the kitchen has done good things. Kuromitsuglazed pork belly wraps are sticky andsweet; wagyu gyoza is rich; a fiery mixed seafood ceviche is refreshing and flavourful; black cod robata skewers are flaky and moist.
