The Riding House Cafe

43-51 Great Titchfield St, London

The best thing about small plates is variety. Here, dishes start at £3 for the likes of goat’s curd, pear and honey or beetroot carpaccio, sheep’s ricotta and merlot vinaigrette. At £4, you get clams, mussels, chilli, garlic and lemon (it really is the simple things) or veal and pork sausage. To £5 and you get the cheesy (parmesan) braised rabbit with polenta. Few tastebuds remain uncatered. Should you order mains, choose from classic steaks, burgers, fish et al or keep with the sharing theme and go for turbot or Chateaubriand. You won’t be disappointed.
