Notting hill
This is the kind of local Chinese restaurant that you wish was at the end of your road. Uli re-opened earlier this year a mile or so from its original site after a short closure and has re-emerged better than ever. The food doesn’t stay loyal to one region; it cherry-picks its favourites from across Asia. Dim sum casing is light and fluffy, with perfectly construed dipping sauces. Roast char siu pork is a must-order, ably supported by chilli beef and a Thai- style grilled sea bass submerged in a sauce rich with citrus, fish sauce and spiked with red chilli. Finish with a hazelnut mochi.
