Alex Aitken (previously Michelin-starred at Brockenhurst’s Le Poussin) has added the running of the new restaurant at Dorset’s Christchurch Harbour Hotel to that of its sister venue, The Jetty. Light interiors complement the harbour views and open terrace, and seafood is, naturally, to the fore, via the likes of monkfish curry and sea bream with crab risotto. The kitchen also serves small plates such as prawn tempura and cracked crab claws. Desserts are paired with cocktails: the strawberry and elderflower jelly with a champagne cocktail is perfect in the sun. GW. 01202 483434
