9 Duke St, London
When thoughts turn to Argentinian food, they rarely go beyond generous hunks of steak. Diego Jacquet, the chef behind Casa Malevo, is changing that with his second venue. The small-plates format takes centre stage here: delicate balls of braised pig head; lush garlic prawns, pork belly and chorizo; and delightfully light sweetbreads with onions and lemon. There is, of course, an asado-type dish too, but the flank steak is delicately rendered, with celeriac and bone marrow. The bistro setting is informal, further enhanced by 375ml carafe servings of wine. GW. 020 7486 9699
