52 Cambridge Street, London
Clever touches of rough-luxe make this boutique offering in residential Pimlico a stylish choice for those seeking a peaceful stay in central London. A five-minute walk from Victoria, the ten-bedroom converted Georgian townhouse is the third hotel in the eccentric Artist Residence collection and the first in London. Rooms are available in small, small plus, medium, loft or suite, with bare brick walls and wooden floors aplenty. Vintage furniture is pleasingly chunky. An industrial vibe is well-balanced by cosy finishes: in our room, a leather bedhead invites, bee-adorned lamps warm the room, and fish-eye mirrors reflect comforting glows. The neat Smeg mini bar has high-end snacks and once you’ve felt how comfortable the bed is, you won’t be moving for a while – stick the Roberts radio on and relax. Beautifully tiled bathrooms brimful with luxury Bramley products and rainfall showers will revive you, ready for a visit to Michael Bremner’s modern British restaurant, 64 Degrees, while a cocktail in the basement bar is the perfect nightcap. BG. Doubles from £160, artistresidencelondon.co.uk
