Artyzen Hotel

A vertical oasis, swathed in lush greenery, this contemporary urban hideaway occupies the site of the former Villa Marie mansion, built by renowned botanist Tan Hoon Siang, close to Singapore Botanic Gardens. Sky gardens punctuate the trellised exterior of the building, which has just been added to the Design Hotels portfolio, turning outdoor living areas into a kind of refuge from the city. A garden-backed cantilevered pool –with glass floor, no less – looks out over the West Orchard neighbourhood from the hotel’s 20th storey. Here, you’ll also find the buzzing Roof Garden; a sky-high escape by day, this open-air meeting spot becomes one of the city’s go-to rooftop venues at sundown. Precedecocktails here with the creative Southeast Asian creations of restaurant Quenino, or local comfort classics at Café Quenino, both reflecting the hotel’s approach to blending Singaporean heritage with contemporary flair. The hotel’s 142 rooms, all with balcony or terrace, bring the outdoors in throughsweeping views over the verdant cityscape and a touch of tropical charm.
