Ireland
Perched on a clifftop on Ireland’s
rugged southeast coast (an hour from
Cork), this architectural gem comes
with breathtaking views of the wild
Atlantic. While modernist, the sleek
structure is designed to merge with its
surrounds: think a wide, panoramic
foundation with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood it with light and
draw the landscape in. Glass stairs
link two floors housing six en-suites –
all ocean-green floors, velvet accents
and mid-century wood – plus a steam
room and cinema. After a bracing
morning jaunt along Ardmore Bay,
breakfasts are best taken on the
slate counter gazing out to sea, while
afternoon adventures might include
whale watching or sea foraging. Opt
for a fireside dinner at the long oak
table, or pop next door to Michelin-
starred restaurant The House, by the
same owners.
