Turkey
The vistas of Turkey's Turquoise
Coast, fringed by almond groves and white
sands, are laid out before you at this luxury
stay, its cove shared only by the sea turtle.
Along a Turkish shore of white
beaches, almond groves and
forests draped over volcanic
hills, it’s the sparkling waters that draw the eye – the namesake of the
Turquoise Coast in the country’s south-
west. Here, a hidden cove is home to D Maris Bay, a lavish retreat where
arrival by helicopter might be optional,
but definitely sets the scene.
Across 196 rooms and suites, hues
of sand and chocolate are elevated by
golden touches and Turkish artwork.
Settle for a meze feast with a sea or
mountain backdrop on your balcony
or take the luxury up a notch and stay
in the four-person villa, complete with
a private pool, marble-clad bathrooms
and a butler to tend to your every whim.
When it comes to food, breakfast at
The Terrace is hard to beat, expansive
views of the bay matched only by
traditional gözleme – stuffed flatbreads
– and fresh pomegranate juice. Lunch
might be a world-class steak at Nusr-et,
high-end Japanese at Zuma or rustic
pizza at D Maris Kitchen, with dinner
at beachfront Greek taverna Manos
and bubbles by the water at La Guérite.
Swimming with loggerhead turtles,
exploring nearby islands by motor
yacht and hammam treatments in the
spa are all on the agenda, with three
shimmering pools to unwind by in
between.
