Morocco
A world away from the hustling
Medina yet just a 20-minute journey
out of the centre, Fairmont’s outpost
in Marrakech is a country-club
haven brimming with Moroccan
flair. A verdant oasis, you’ll find no
crowds and chaos here: instead,
palm trees tower above manicured
lawns, a 2,000sq m swimming pool
snakes around the exterior and an 18-hole golf course from designer
Cabell Robinson all come framed by
views of the Atlas Mountains.
Inside, materials of bejmat and
marble finesse a natural and
luxurious feel evident across the 134
rooms, suites and private-pool villas.
Along with a riad-style courtyard,
large, open terraces and warming,
sunset tones, local craftsmanship has been called upon for Berber
rugs, intricate moucharabiehs and
zellige tiles. Aside from laps of the
never-ending pool and putts on the
world-class greens, there’s a wealth of
experiences to tap into – be it a game
of tennis on the clay courts, dining
across six restaurants and bars or at
the spa. Doubles from £381.
